Josephine Pon has been served as Board Chair for Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC) for over three years and also Chair of the Immigrants of Distinction Award for over four years. She enjoys volunteer work especially helping new comers to settle in their new home in Calgary and also facilities numerous educational workshop and presentation for newcomer in community and different associations. Josephine prior experience includes working in Small Business, Retail, Personal and Commercial Banking with three major Charter Banks including past experience in overseeing a Mortgage Broker Centre. Her over 20 years of lending experience is also comprised of working eight years in the public sector for the federal government with Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation (CMHC), in various roles such as International Trade, Assisted Housing and Business Development of Mortgage Insurance (Principal and Account Manager). Josephine is well established and strongly connected in the community, she often representing ISC in the community and maintaining strong business relationships with specific industry segments, immigration agents, large corporations, the three levels of government and Consul General Offices in Calgary. In 2014, Josephine was officially recognized by The Rt. Honorable Stephen Harper, Former Prime Minister of Canada, for her remarkable services as a community leader, as the Board Chair of Immigrant Services of Calgary and varied volunteer contributions.
